The Helen Keller Festival Keller Kids Program aims to provide enrichment to kids and teens while teaching them about the life and accomplishments of Helen Keller through education and hands-on learning.

Discovery with AIDB

Presented by AIDB Shoals Regional Center in Tuscumbia.
Discovery with AIDB is the disability-education portion of Keller Kids. Keller Kids Discovery features Adapted Activities and teaches kids about vision and hearing differences. For over 25 years, the program has offered kids the opportunity to learn about the everyday life of persons who are deaf, blind and deaf-blind.
FREE event. Lunch provided. Open to ages 8-14.

Keller Kids Party in the Park
Slime Time

Get your slime on with our Keller Kids volunteers. Kids will be able to mix and make their own slime, including fun add-ins. Come hang out in the shade under the pavilion by the splash pad.
Exploring Texture

1 pM – 2PM
Join our Keller Kids volunteers as we play around with paint. Kids will explore different materials to create unique textured artworks. The project aims to allow kids to discover how various materials create different textures as well as how each texture feels in their artwork. Located under the pavilion by the splash pad.
Pinwheel Painting (optional craft)

We will have an optional craft for those kids who don’t enjoy getting their hands messy. Kids will be able to use our watercolor paints and brushes to create their own pinwheel masterpiece. Located under the pavilion by the splash pad.
